Focus on Wellness

We have a special focus on wellness for all ages.  Our fitness programs are designed to keep the community healthy and active. In October 2014, the Hester House Wellness Center opened to the community. With over 24,000 square feet, the Wellness Center offers a state-of-the-art weight room, complete with locker rooms, a basketball court with 300-seat bleachers, and a five-lane, 25-meter pool.

The Wellness Center offers a wide array of programs:

  • Weight Training
  • Tai Chi
  • Adult Aquatics (Aerobics, Lap Swimming, and Learn-to-Swim)
  • Youth Aquatics (Learn-to-Swim)
  • TSU’s Aging in Motion classes

We use the support we receive from our donors and partners responsibly. We work hard to ensure every dollar is spent sensibly and in a trustworthy manner, maximizing the services we provide.

Social Services & Case Management

Our services include life skills, financial literacy, employment assistance, and educational assistance.

We provide programs that address immediate client needs while also assessing the root causes that impact the client’s ability to maintain and achieve self-sufficiency.

We help clients through intake, assessments, information referrals, development of personal goals and objectives, monitoring, and evaluation.

We also address basic and urgent needs for clients in exceptional situations.

Senior Services

We empower seniors to live independently, and we celebrate their contributions to our history.

We provide critical services for the elderly in a community-based environment to promote health and nutrition, social activities and interaction, recreation, and supportive services.

All of our services are offered to assist seniors with their basic needs.

We strive for positive lifestyle changes with structured and entertaining activities that promote physical and mental wellness.

Youth Services

We provide inspiring year-round activities for children ages 4-12.

During the school year, students participate in after school programs, and, in the summer months, youth enroll in summer camp.

We focus on activities that promote self-sufficiency and transform the lives of our youth.

Our partners include, Harris County Street Olympics, Perfect Team Play, Boy Scouts, Harris County Aquatics Program, Texas AgriLife Extension Services, Traveling Naturalist, and Discovery Camp.
